Jerome "Jerry" Goessl

Jerome “Jerry” Goessl, 76, Maribel, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at a local hospital. He was born June 24, 1938 in Green Bay, son of the late Walter Sr. and Gertrude (Peot) Goessl. Jerry worked at Cherney Lumber in Maribel and Eggers Plywood in Two Rivers for most his life. He was a proud member of the Maribel Lions and Maribel Sportsman Club. Jerry was a life member of St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown where he was an usher. He enjoyed visiting with friends and he always remembered everyone’s birthday and anniversaries. Survivors include his brothers: Walter (Lorraine) Goessl, Eugene (Terry) Goessl; nieces and nephews: William (Rita) Oswald, Joel Goessl, Jason Goessl, Susie (Tom) Preston, Patti (Keith) Waack, Lynn (Greg) Franz, Jolene Cariveau, Mary (Joe) Kiel, and Jim (Alice) Bergelin; and close friend, Donald Cigler. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence Goessl, Sylvester Goessl and two sisters, Rose Oswald and Margaret (Milton) Bergelin. Family and friends may visit Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, (TODAY), Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown.
