Jeffrey "Jeff" Gricar

After 15 years of battling cancer, Jeffrey Gricar, 50, of Wrightstown, WI, was met by the Lord’s angels much too soon. Jeff was born May 28, 1966, in Oak Creek, WI, the son of John and Shirley (Gottfried) Gricar. He graduated from South Milwaukee High School and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree at NWTC. Jeff loved to spend a week every June with his sons canoeing and camping at Sylvania Wilderness. He enjoyed big trophy hunting and traveled to many places chasing the next set of horns. He was an avid outdoorsman who fished salmon on Lake Michigan and trout in the streams of the Northwoods where he felt most at home. Jeff could build anything. He would see something he liked, take a picture of it with his phone and sketch it out on graph paper. The next thing you knew he would have a beautiful piece of furniture, a new ice fishing tip-up or a giant back yard stainless steel moose expertly constructed. Jeff made friends with every person he would meet. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to lend a hand or offer words of encouragement. Anyone that new him, would tell you that he could never sit still. He had so many projects going on at the same time and he would complete every one of them. The last couple of years had been very hard on Jeff but at the same time very rewarding. He met Jennifer who would become his best friend and caregiver. They shared their dreams together and went on many adventures. Jeff was a strong and hardworking man. He did deep tunnel construction just out of high school. He went on to work for WE Energies for over 17 years. He has been sharing everything he learned over the years with his students at NWTC where he was an instructor for the Gas Utility Program. He was loved and respected by many. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, students and colleagues. Jeff is survived by his parents, John and Shirley (Gottfried) Gricar; children, Joseph and Jacob (their mother, Michelle Grube); special friend and life partner, Jennifer Longsine and her children, Chance VanToll and Madeline Honick. Jeff is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
