Jeanette C. Leanna

Jeanette C. Leanna, 89, Ledgeview, passed away Thursday, August 02, 2012, at Angel’s Touch Assisted Living. She was born February 5, 1923 in Bellevue, WI, daughter to the late Albert and Anna (Thirion) Van Rite. Jeanette married Gerald Leanna in 1943 at St. Philip Catholic Church in Green Bay, and he preceded her in death in January of 1995. After farming with her husband Gerald, Jeanette worked at Dickinson School in De Pere. She enjoyed bingo, sewing, cooking, crafts, playing cards, and making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Jeanette loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her seven children: Roger (Barb) Leanna, Ledgeview, Mary (Ronald) Stein, Ledgeview, Gloria (Ken) Wiese, Brillion, Donna (Mark) Pansier, Ledgeview, Bill (Donna) Leanna, Ledgeview, Pat Leanna and special friend, Bob Donaldson, Minnesota, Ken (Susie) Leanna, Ledgeview; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sylvia Lindsley, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Agnes Van Rite, Bellevue; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanette was preceded in death by her two grandsons, Rodney and Craig Leanna; sisters and brothers: Marie, Florence (Jack), Loretta (Harry), Mabel (Ernie), Raymond (Gladys), Alton, Ralph, and Roland (Germaine). Family and friends may call Saturday, August 4, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at church, with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere.
