Jean Marie Younger

September 1, 1964 — May 1, 2016

Jean M. “Jeanie” Younger, age 51, of Green Bay, was carried away on Eagle’s Wings on May 1, 2016. The daughter of John and Rosemary (Blahnik) Younger was born in 1964 in Green Bay. In 1982 she graduated from Ashwaubenon High School, and went on to veterinary technician school. During her career, Jeanie worked for the Humane Society, Farr’s Grove and most recently United Health Group. As a devoted member of the Eagle’s Club, she enjoyed participating in their many charitable endeavors. Jeanie had an exceptional ability to knit, and her work was well known among her family and friends, who marveled at the fact that she mostly taught herself to knit. In her spare time, she enjoyed flowers, especially in the spring, movies, reading, cooking, playing card and board games, and loved to spend time with her family and puppies. Survivors include her mother, Rosemary; siblings: Jack (Sue) Younger, Kathy Cole, Pat Staeven, Randy (Lourdes) Younger, Mary (Larry) Thomas, Julie (Fran) Kaczrouske, Larry (Barb) Younger and Jim Younger; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other family and friends. She is further survived by her special friends, Amy Kluth and Nancy Campbell, and her puppies Dusty and Katie. She was preceded in death by her father, John, and siblings: David, Jerry and Janet. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere, on Friday, May 6, from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. At 6:00pm, a service will be led by the Eagle’s Club followed immediately by a prayer service led by Sr. Helen Keyzer, ANG. Our family would like to extend our thanks to the caregivers and staff in the ICU at Bellin Hospital. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the University of Iowa Diabetic Research Center, and the Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund.
