Janet Rose (Mulloy) Cornelissen

Janet Rose (Mulloy) Cornelissen, 94 died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 11, 2018. She was born April 6, 1924 to Charles and Magdaline (Denis) Mulloy. She attended grade school in Kolbs Corner and lived with her grandparents to attend 2 years of high school at Cathedral High School and then graduated from East Green Bay. She married the love of her life Harry (Bud) Cornelissen on November 8, 1941. They owned the Deep Rock gas station/Cornelissen Oil Company in De Pere.

Janet was the bookeeper of the business but was also very active in other organizations. She volunteered at Rennes Nursing Home for 8 years and then joined the auxiliary at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 20 years. She also belonged to De Pere Womans Club, Ladies Elks, Mystery Hills Ladies Golf and Hybernian Club.

Family was very important to her and she was always wondering when the next get together was going to be. "Gram" loved seeing her grandchildren and they always teased her about who was her favorite. Watching her great-grandchildren in any activity they were in always put a smile on her face. She cherished her Irish heritage and St. Patrick's Day was her favorite day of year.

She is survived by her children Dale (Mary Kay) and Jeanne (Terry) Kabat; her grandchildren: Terry (Cori), Jon (Allison), Ross (Karen) Cornelissen, Kelly (Lee) Mierow, Krista (Jeff) Kinziger, Karmen (Brian) Wall and 16 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Jim Mulloy, Richard (Florence) Mulloy and a sister Joyce Matuzak.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry (Bud) and son Richard. Also, a brother Patrick (Margie) Mulloy, sister Bernice Fox and sister-in-law Florence Mulloy; Harry’s parents, Albert and Nellie Cornelissen and Harry's 9 siblings and their spouses.

Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St, De Pere on Thursday, May 17 from 3:00pm until 4:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00pm with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
