James Minor

Our hearts are heavy once again on this day because our beloved father has fallen asleep in the arms of the Lord. James Minor, age 92, from Green Bay passed away peacefully on August 12 at Allouez Sunrise Village in Green Bay.

He was born on September 5, 1929 to Alfred and Josephine (Thyes) Minor. Jim graduated from Green Bay West High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served his country for 2 years (9/20/1946 to 9/20/1948). He was very proud to be a corporal in the United States Marines. After serving he attended and graduated from Badger Business College. He also attended Illinois State University.

He married June Ann Tilkens on October 7, 1950 and they were happily married for 71 years. June preceded him in death on October 24, 2021.

Jim was an Operational Department Manager for 36 years at Proctor and Gamble. He retired from there for health reasons, however, he didn’t want to stop working so he went to Curative Rehabilitation as a Resource Specialist for 20 years in converting the P&G product operations.

He will be dearly missed by his three daughters and two sons: Cheryl (Don) Stewart, Michayl (Dean) Reimer, Paula (Jim) Dahmus, Michael Minor, Steve (Mary) Minor; Ten grandchildren: Dan Stewart, Jennifer Stewart, Nicholas (Kristen) Stewart, Joshua Herman, Kathryn Herman, Andy (Ashley) Dahmus, Theodore (Kayli) Dahmus, Holly Dahmus, Natasha Minor, Alexis Minor and Maxwell Minor. He also had seven great-grandchildren: Nathan and Jameson Stewart, Sonya and Augustus Herman, Shawn, McCartney and Damon James Dahmus. He has one surviving brother, Robert (Janice) Minor.

He was preceded in death by his wife June; parents Alfred and Josephine; one sister Betty Shaw; four brothers: Grant “Buzz,” Clarence, Alfred, Pat and 2 infant sisters at birth.

Private family services will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Allouez. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
