James "Jim" Stoller

James Edward Stoller, 80, De Pere, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 with his family by his side. Jim was the son of William and Mary (Cihlar) Stoller born August 6, 1935 in Algoma. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane Vertz on November 10, 1956 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma. Jim was the owner of Valley Cabinet, Inc which he and Mary Jane founded in November 1960. Jim was a member of the Brown County Home Builders Association where he received several awards. In 1975, Jim was awarded the Associate of the Year for the Brown County Home Builder’s Association and Wisconsin Home Builders Association. In 1986, he was inducted into the society of Honored Associates of the National Association of Home Builder’s, in 1990 he received the Brown County Home Builders Presidents Award, 1996 the Brown County Cornerstone Associate Award, 1998 the Brown County Presidents Award and then inducted into the Wisconsin Builders Association Hall of Fame in Feb 2000. Jim was a past member of the Brown County Home Builders Association, Valley Home Builders Association, Door County Home Builders Association, Man-Cal Home Builders Association, De Pere Rotary Club and St. Mary Catholic Community De Pere. When Jim wasn’t working, he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and friends being outdoors boating, hunting, fishing on Lake Michigan and Lake Erie and spending time at his cabin in Wausaukee playing in the “woods”. Jim is survived by his wife Mary Jane of 60 years and 5 children Mike (Ginny) Stoller, Judy (Keith) Wypyszynski, Janet (Steve) Mashl, Dean (Karen) Stoller, Sheri Stoller. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Brian Stoller, Kristyn (Chris) Nies, Aaron (Julie) Wypyszynski, Amy (Mark) Kasvin, Stephanie Mashl, Brett Mashl, Casey Stoller, Carson Stoller and 2 great-grandchildren, Walter Wypyszynski and Addelyn Nies. He is further survived by his siblings Ruth Rodrian, Bob Stoller and in-laws Joe Paradise, Gen Stoller, Ralph Hafeman, Bertha Stoller, Darlene Stoller, Ken (Mary Ann) Vertz and Terry (Mary) Vertz, numerous nieces, nephews friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Oliver Adele Vertz, siblings spouses William Stoller Jr, Mary Ann Hafeman, Verna (Ken) Seiler, Frank Stoller, John (Bev) Stoller, Carol Paradise, Joe Stoller, Sylvester Rodrian and Carla Stoller. Family and friends may visit at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm with a parish prayer service at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, from 9:30am until 10:45am. The Mass of Christian Burial for James will be celebrated at 11:00am with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment will be in the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinsons Foundation or Diabetes Foundation are appreciated. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Sunrise Village Assisted Living, Jack Engrid Meng Unity staff, Dr. Bozena Biernat and Father Jack for the care and compassion extended to Jim.
