James B. Castle

July 30, 1942 — January 23, 2014

James B. Castle, 71, Allouez, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his home. He was born July 30, 1942 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Oliver and Evelyn (Ruehrdanz) Castle. Jim graduated from Highland Park high school, Highland Park, IL in 1960 and attended various colleges in the Midwest. He was a Market Researcher for A.C. Nielson for 26 years, and was instrumental in developing the scanning and barcode system. Jim married Sallie Lynch on June 8, 1991 at First United Presbyterian Church of De Pere. Jim loved golfing, yard work and landscaping, and baseball (especially the Cubs). He was an active member of First United Presbyterian Church of De Pere, where he served as an Elder, and is currently a member of Christ Alone Church. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Sallie, Allouez; daughter, Susan, at home; his brother, Bob Castle, Fairfax, CA; one niece, Heidi (James) Rogers, San Rafael, CA; one nephew, Craig Castle, Fairfax, CA; one cousin, Sandra (Harold) Noborikawa, Honolulu, HI; and numerous other family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister-in-law, Deborah Castle. Family and friends may visit Friday, January 31, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Ted L. Tromble officiating.
