Isabella "Izzy" Brunner

August 9, 1921 — November 26, 2015

Isabella A. Brunner, 94, formerly of New Franken, passed away on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015. She was born in the Town of Humboldt on August 9, 1921 to the late Elmer and Emma (Jauquet) Davister. On November 21, 1940 she married Walter “Wally” Brunner at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Sugarbush. Together they operated a dairy farm in New Franken where they also raised their family. She was a longtime member of St. Kilian Catholic Church, she was a member of the Christian Ladies Society and volunteered preparing and serving funeral luncheons. Isabella was devout in her faith and inspired her family by her daily attendance at Mass as long as her health allowed and her devotion to the Blessed Mother through the rosary. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and baking where the aroma of delicious food and homemade goodies filled the house. No one ever visited her and left hungry! Isabella especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Isabella is survived by her children, Karen Ann St. Mary, Leon (Cheryl) Brunner, Mary Ellen (Todd) Rueckl; grandchildren, Denise (John) Parry, Daniel St. Mary, Diana (Scott) Summers, Keith (Lisa) Brunner, Kevin (Tracy) Brunner, Kyle (Karen) Brunner, Karli Rueckl; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Tiffany, Noah, Ava, Adam, Elsa, Emma Brunner, Ryan Parry, Owen Summers; her sister, Fay Davister; her brother and sisters-in-law, Michael (Vicki) Davister, Delores Davister, Sharon Davister; brother-in-law, Clarence “Peanuts” Michiels; sister-in-law, Pearl Brunner; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wally; infant son, Douglas; son-in-law, Leo St. Mary; brothers and sisters, Ardeal Davister, Clyde Davister, Carmen (George) Paider, Glenda Michiels; Wally’s family, Adelle (William) Burkart, Mayme (Edmund) Schauer, Clem Brunner, Genevieve (Donald) Craanen.
