Irene Cecilia Halstead

Irene Halstead, 82, Allouez, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Irene was born in Green Bay on March 23, 1940 to the late Calvin and Barbara (Leiterman) VanRoy. September 5, 1959 she married the Edward Halstead and shared 37 years of marriage until Edward’s passing in 1996. Together raising a family and enjoyed gardening.

Irene will be sadly missed by her children, Julie Halstead, Jane Weichert, Brian (Lori) Halstead of St. Augustine, FL, Mark (Joan) Halstead, and Greg (Cynthia) Halstead; special daughter-in-law, Jodie McMonagle; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Katie VanRoy and Aggie Gemmill of Forest Lake, MN. Irene is further survived by too many nieces and nephews to count.

In addition to her husband, Edward, Irene is preceded in death by sons, James and Kenneth (Ben) Halstead; and brother Edmund VanRoy.

Friends may visit Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held with Chaplain Jen Christenson officiating.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, especially Amber. They would also like to acknowledge John and Terri Arndt for their help, amazing care and compassion during Irene’s final journey.
