Imogene T. “Jean” Kimps, 83, Whitewater, WI, formerly of Allouez, passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2012. She was born January 24, 1928 in the town of Glenmore, the daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Gerczak) Blajeski. Her youth was spent growing up on the family farm in Glenmore, and she attended St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay. On September 8, 1956, Jean married Carl Kimps. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his death on December 23, 2006. For almost 20 years, prior to the birth of their children, Jean was a beautician, working at various local beauty shops. She later worked at Lindeman’s Dry Cleaning for many years. Jean was a long time member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Allouez. She always maintained a beautiful flower garden at her home, and especially loved tending the rose bushes. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school functions and sporting events. Jean is survived by a son, Jeff (Jenni) Kimps, Whitewater; a daughter, Michele La Rocque (Scott Klockziem), Ashwaubenon; granddaughter, Brittany La Rocque; and grandson, Chris Kimps. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; and nine brothers and sisters: Walter, Marie, Aurelia, Margaret, Ruth, Delephine, Cyril, Leland, and Ione. Relatives and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home Cremation Services, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
