Howard L. Plog, 87, died Sunday, June 26, 2011. He was born February 24, 1924, in Green Bay to the late William and Lillian Plog. He married Elaine Grady on March 3, 1950. He was active in sports during high school and loved fishing and hunting. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from June 1943 to March 1946, aboard the U.S.S. Saint Paul CA 73, a heavy cruiser, a unit of the U.S. Third Fleet. He worked at Milprint, De Pere, WI, for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, and three children: Linda Plog, Larry (Chris) Plog and Michael (Bony) Plog. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Tyler Plog, Casey Plog and Jamie Plog, as well as three great-grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, two sisters, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law. Family and friends may call Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison St., Green Bay, with the Rev. Larry Lange officiating.
