Howard Boucher

Howard J. Boucher, 86, De Pere resident died peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was born in Green Bay on September 24, 1925, son of the late Elmer and Catherine (Janssen) Boucher. He is a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Green Bay. Howard served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army/Air Corps primarily on the Gold Coast of Africa. Howard married Doris Davis on May 8, 1948 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Green Bay. He was Sales Manager at MITCO Floor Covering and Brauman Paper Co. in their flooring division. He is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, De Pere, an usher and a member of the Holy Name Society. Howard and his brothers, Will and Bob, owned a Christmas tree farm near Forestville. He enjoyed woodworking, flower gardening, reading and spending time on his wooded property on the Ahnapee River. Howard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris; three children: John (Donna) Boucher, Nancy (Mark) Gezella, and Ken (Cathy) Boucher; two grandsons: Mark Gezella II and Tony Gezella; brothers and sisters: Edna Chappelle, and Sr. Catherine Mary (Marion) Boucher, St. Louis, MO; sisters-in-law: Laverne Boucher and Mary Boucher. He is also missed by a special friend, Dave Spiering; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: Walter Boucher, Wilfred (Zita) Boucher, Alvin Boucher, Robert Boucher, and Florence (John) Schumacher; and brother-in-law, Roy Chappelle. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Military Veteran’s Honors will follow the Mass. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home Cremation Services is assisting the family.
