Helen M. (Rotzenberg) Paul, 96, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014. The daughter of the late Peter and Louise (Vande Voort) Rotzenberg was born on September 2, 1918 in Askeaton, WI. Helen graduated from Nicolet High School. She married Sylvan Paul on September 6, 1941 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton. They enjoyed over 54 years together. Helen worked at the Lee Store in De Pere for 18 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere as well as the Altar Rosary Society. Helen was a very caring person. She devoted many hours to charitable organizations knitting and sewing hats and finger covers for newborns at St. Vincent Hospital. She also volunteered at the De Pere Christian Outreach. Helen created and sewed many teddy bears and hot pads which she donated to church. She was an accomplished seamstress. Survivors include her children: Gary J. and Bonnie Paul, Ashwaubenon; Daniel J. and Yvonne Paul, Waunakee; Mary Graves, Green Bay; Robert J. and Joyce Paul, Ledgeview; Kathy and Tim Smits, De Pere; Sue and Marty Valasek, Green Lake; Ann and Todd Jansen, De Pere. Grandchildren: Binky Hamilton, Gary (Donna) Paul Jr.; Heidi (Mike) Radosevich; Bill Paul (fiancé, Kim Malcore); Carmen (Paul) Meyer; Larry (Gayle) Paul; Peter Graves; Timothy (Susan) Graves; Brian (Robin) Paul; Troy (Robin) Paul; Matthew (Jody) Smits; Benjamin (Cher) Smits; Katie (Andy) Porubcan; Sarah Valasek; Christopher Jansen; and Nicholas Jansen. Helen was gifted with 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Rotzenberg. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Sylvan and her parents; sisters: Grace and Ruth Rotzenberg, Blanche Berken; brother: Norbert Rotzenberg; brother-in-law Lloyd Berken and son-in-law Fred Graves Jr. Family and friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere on Monday November 10th from 9AM until 10:45AM. Mass of Christian burial 11AM Monday with Reverend Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
