Helen Klubertanz

Helen Klubertanz, 94, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at Woodside Nursing Home. On February 8, 1917 she was born in the Town of Humboldt, the daughter of the late Frank and Mathilda (Bruffearts) Van Der Wegen. She married Clem on October 21, 1939 at Holy Martyrs of Gorcum Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on March 27, 1991. During their married years Helen and Clem resided in De Pere. She had many hobbies including sewing/pillow making, writing poetry, flower arranging, braided rugs, painting landscapes, and reading. Helen loved to bake and was a great cook. Her door was always open for a good conversation and loved to visit. Helen’s memory was outstanding, she had a unique ability to remember dates, times, events, and names. Helen enjoyed spending time at their cottage. Survivors include her four children, Muriel (the late Bernie) Brice; Ronald and Sharon; Merlin and Rita; Cleo and Mary; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Her brother, Wilbert and Evelyn Van Der Wegen; in-laws, Blanch Klubertanz; Jeanette Van Der Wegen; Silvery and Raymond Spear; further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clem; son-in-law, Bernie; brothers, Bob; Ray; Gordon. Family and friends may call on Friday, June 10, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere from 9:00am until 11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am at the church with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family with arrangements.
