Helen A. Petersen

Helen A. Petersen, 91, Wrightstown, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010. She was born October 3, 1918 in the town of Wrightstown, daughter to the late Herman and Sophia (Peterson) Petersen. Helen graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1937, where she was Valedictorian, and from the University of Wisconsin and University of California. She was a Registered Dietician and designed kitchens for hospitals. Helen was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay, Appleton Medical Center, and also at a hospital in Racine. She was a member of the Northeastern Wisconsin Master Gardeners of Green Bay. Helen was an avid reader, and she loved gardening, picture taking, movies, and having all of the relation over at Christmas time. Survivors include one sister, Adeline Petersen; two brothers: Elton (Mary) Petersen, and Carl (Ila) Petersen; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and a nephew, Brian Petersen. Family and friends may call Tuesday, September 21, 2010 (TODAY) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St., Wrightstown.
