Harrison Andrew Fry Iii

June 5, 1939 — February 1, 2024

Harrison (Harry) Andrew Fry III, 84 years old, passed away comfortably at St. Vincent Hospital on February 1, 2024, surrounded by family. He was cared for by wonderful hospital and Unity hospice staff, who treated Harry with great compassion and care.

Harry was born on June 5, 1939 at St. Vincent’s. He was the oldest child of Harrison Jr. and Evelyn (Blodgett) Fry. Harry was a member of Premontre High School’s class of ‘57, and attended St. Norbert College. He had a long and successful career as a stockbroker at Citizens Securities Company and Associated Bank. Harry was a man of unwavering integrity who earned his clients’ trust and always could be counted on do the right thing.

Harry married Evelyn J. Loehlein, his wife of 60 wonderful years, at St. Mary’s of the Angels Church in Green Bay in 1963. Harry and Evie enjoyed traveling across the country regularly and to many parts of the world. They shared time between their homes in De Pere, The Villages, Florida and at Thunder Lake, a lake which was ‘home’ for Harry for more than 75 years.

Harry was a loving and supportive father to his four children, Jane Fry (Wienke), Patrick Fry (Patty), Susan Fry (Jonathan), and Tricia Fry. He has seven amazing grandchildren, Ariel and Uma Fry Demetria, Jacob and Jonathan Fry, Maya Washington, and Addie and Tess Fry Meunier. He also had a special place in his heart for his honorary Norwegian daughter, Ellen Aas, and her family.

In addition to his wife and children, Harry also is survived by his siblings, Kathleen (Tom) Kitslaar, Barbara (Greg) Smith and Bob (Kris) Fry.

Harry was a tremendous source of fun for his family and friends. He enjoyed everything about spending time at the cottage. He loved endlessly driving the boat for water skiers, kneeboarders and tubers, fishing, canoeing, berry picking, hunting, visiting at the end of the dock, and working in the yard. He was kind and generous, and, in his own words, “open minded, flexible and not stubborn.” He was most especially tireless in his love for his family and the north woods.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Evelyn (Blodgett) Fry, Evie’s parents, Arthur and Bridget Loehlein, his brother, Jim Fry, his sisters-in-law, Jan Fry and Marcey and Mary Ellen Loehlein, and his son-in-law, Aaron Washington.

Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street in De Pere, on Friday, February 16, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Josuva Arulanandu officiating.
