Harold "Harry" Sanders

December 27, 1925 — March 27, 2016

Sanders, Harold F. 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening March 27, 2016 at Renaissance Assisted Living Facility in De Pere. He was born in De Pere on December 27, 1925 to the late Benedict and Catherine (Geurts) Sanders. Harold served his country in the U. S. Navy. On August 20, 1949 he was united in marriage to Carole Corby at St .Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. He learned the electrical trade in the U.S. Navy and pursued the trade after active duty in the De Pere/Green Bay area until retiring in 1990. Harold was proud of his military service to his country and enjoyed relating his experiences. Harold loved being on the water in his boats from the time he was a youngster and growing up near the Fox River in De Pere. Harold and Carole loved to travel and spend vacations camping, fishing and visiting family and friends. He is survived by sons David (Sandy) and Gary (Bev). He is further survived by a brother Lloyd (Bonnie) Sanders, two brothers-in-law; Ken DeCleene, Bob Van Dyck, sister-in-law Melba Sanders, granddaughter Sheri Sanders and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his wife Carole and grandson Eric Sanders as well as his siblings; Carl (Helen) Sanders, Earl Sanders, Lou DeCleene, Rosie Van Dyck, Joan Vander Loop, and sister-in- law, Becky Sanders. Friends may call at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Drive, Green Bay from 9 – 10:15 am Friday April 1, 2016 with Mass at 10:30 am officiated by Bishop Robert Morneau. Full military honors will follow the service at church. Burial with at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, 2121 Riverside Drive, Green Bay on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 1 pm. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to niece Connie Corby, for her loving care and compassion taking care of Dad. Harold was a remarkable man and wonderful friend. He will be sadly missed by his family.
