Gordon J. Kane

Gordon J. Kane, Sr., 79, Denmark, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at his home with his family at his side, in the arms of his loving wife. He was born February 3, 1931 in Town of Morrison, WI, son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Long) Kane, Sr. Gordon married Delores Pansier, September 6, 1952 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in De Pere. He worked at the Manitowoc Shipyards and was a lifelong farmer. Gordon loved spending time with his family, enjoyed shaking dice, playing checkers, and his trips to Reedsville Equity Livestock. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church-Stark. Survivors include his wife, Delores, Denmark; children: Ronald Kane, Tom (Karen) Kane, both of Denmark, Randall Kane, Green Bay, Karen (special friend-Bri-Anne) Kane, Two Rivers, Kelly Kane, Denmark, Mark (Annette) Kane, Greenleaf, Gordon (Dawn) Kane, Jr., Leon (Julie) Kane, and Jerry (special friend, Becky) Kane, all of Denmark; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Elizabeth Ann Denor, Morrison, Giles (Mary) Kane, Greenleaf, and Agatha Lensmire, Manitowoc; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leland (Clara) Pansier, Betty Treml, Doris Pansier, Marilyn Pansier; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dennis and Matthew; four brothers, Charles, Jerome, Michael, Jr., and John Leo; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Kane; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Family and friends may call Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service prior at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stark, with Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass to follow, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
