Gladys Van Den Langenberg

Gladys Van Den Langenberg, 85, Allouez, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home. She was born October 2, 1927 in De Pere, daughter to the late Al and Mary (Mazurkiewicz) Baumgart. Gladys married James J. Van Den Langenberg on July 17, 1948 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere. Gladys was a loving wife and mother. She was an avid Packer and Brewer fan, enjoyed playing cards and dominos, going on bus trips to the casino, gardening, holding and stopping at rummage sales, bargain shopping, traveling and volunteering. Above all else, she enjoyed taking care of her grandkids while they were younger and loved spending time with her great-granddaughters. She was Homemaker of the Year in 1990, member of the VFW Post 9677 Ladies Auxiliary and Ledgeview Homemakers, was a Den Mother and belonged to a Bridge Club. Gladys was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ledgeview. Gladys will be deeply missed by her loving husband, James J. Van Den Langenberg; children: Linda Wenzel, Paul (Debra) Van Den Langenberg, Faye (Rick) McKee, and John (Molly) Van Den Langenberg; grandchildren: Lisa (Jeffrey) Richardson, Brandon Sells, Leah (Brad) Van Den Bush, Brett (Brook) Van Den Langenberg, Sarah (special friend-Adam) Van Den Langenberg, Scott (special friend-John) Van Den Langenberg, Stephanie (special friend-Rich) Taylor, and Victoria Van Den Heuvel; great-grandchildren: Iyana, Jenea, Malea, Brooklyn, Brittan and Kara; special nephew, Vernie (Priscilla) Baumgart; sister and brothers: Evelyn Warpinski, Phillip (Pat) Baumgart, and Ralph (Mary Ann) Baumgart; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Isabella DeMoulin and Gail (Joanna) Fenlon. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Van Den Langenberg; sisters and brothers: Mildred Fenlon, Clarence Baumgart, Lillian Collier, Jeanette Van Den Elzen, and Jim Fite. Family and friends may call Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, where there will be a VFW Auxiliary Post 9677 Service at 6:30 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr., Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at church, with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9677. The family extends a special thanks to Heartland Hospice for all their dedication, especially her special caregiver, Lise.
