Gladys Suster, age 91 of Denmark, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2019. She was born on June 14, 1928 to the late Anton and Catherine (Wertel) Swantek in Eaton, Wisconsin. On August 5, 1950, she married Victor Suster and together they raised three children and ran Suster’s Arcade and Restaurant. Gladys was a longtime member of All Saint’s Catholic Church in Denmark. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Victor, children; Leon (Theresa) Suster, Denmark, Dale (JoAnn Pieshek) Suster, Denmark and Vicki (Wayne) Chaloupka, Luxemburg, grandchildren; Amanda (Jason) Baugnet, Denmark, Sara (Dan Maaske) Chaloupka, Green Bay, Angela (Nathan) Michiels, Denmark and Anthony Chaloupka, Green Bay and great grandchildren; Audrey, John, Hugo and one on the way. Gladys is further survived by her sisters; Irma Buckberger, Milwaukee and Donna Collard, Two Rivers, brother in law, Carl Arveson as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding Gladys in death are her parents, as well as her in laws, Victor and Ana (Rebitz) Suster, her sisters; Beatrice Arveson, Geraldine (Norman “Bud”) Hebel, Esther (Arthur) Clark, Robert Buckberger and Robert (Rita) Suster.
Family and friends may call on Monday, July 15, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Church, 125 St. Claude St, Denmark beginning at 3:00pm until 4:45pm, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 5pm.
The family would like to thank Allouez Parkside Assisted Living for all the care and kindness given to Gladys and the Heartland Hospice angels Patti, Teresa, Hannah and John for their care and support.
