Gilbert “Sam” Lambert, age 88, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Odd Fellow Home in Green Bay. He was born on April 14, 1926 to the late Lloyd and Florence (Bosar) Lambert in Ashwaubenon at the only farm house located on South Broadway at the time. Sam worked first for the Northwestern Railroad and later for the Milwaukee Railroad until his retirement. He served in the US Army starting in 1944 for several years. Sam met and married Kathryn in 1945 after dating for 43 days. They were married for 68 years. In retirement, he worked part-time for Economy Metal. Sam enjoyed going up to the cottage at Handsaw Creek near Thunder Mountain, where he fished and hunted. He and Kay enjoyed traveling around the country in their motorhome. Survivors include his children: Terry (Linda) Lambert, Abrams; Lisa Noble, Medford; Scott (Terry) Lambert, Green Bay; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Jack) Mace, Atlanta; niece, Karen Thompson and her daughter Sherri. In addition to his wife, Kathryn, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Beverly and Eugene “Popeye.” Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Saturday, January 31, from 3:00pm until the time of service at 4:30pm with Rev. David Hatch officiating. Entombment in Allouez Mausoleum. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the staff at the Odd Fellow Home for the exceptional care and concern shown to Sam.
