Germaine P. (Liebergen) Hutjens

July 18, 1912 — April 13, 2014

Germaine P. Hutjens, 101, De Pere, passed away Sunday April 13surrounded by her family. The daughter of Peter and Johanna (Van Lannen) Liebergen was born July 18, 1912 in Wrightstown. Germaine married Henry Hutjens February 21,1933 at St Paul Catholic Church Wrightstown and Hank preceded her in death on June 3, 1991. Germaine was an active member of St Mary Catholic Church De Pere where she was a member of the Christian Ladies Society, Refunders Group and helped with the funeral dinners for many years. She also found great joy in meeting people through serving Meals on Wheels, as a prayer partner on the Rosary Team, and her active presence in visiting Nursing homes. Germaine is survived by her children: Donald (Carol) Hutjens, Rose Ann (Gerald) Van Lanen, Doris Mancheski, La Verne (Fran) De Cleene, Janet (Ken) Krautkramer, Annice (Ron) De Cleene,Sue (Alan) Tetzlaff, Dale (Winnie) Hutjens. Grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grand children. Two sisters-in-law: Agnes Liebergen, Anita Hermsen. One brother-in-law: Myron Lotto. Numerous nieces and nephews. Germaine will be greatly missed by her best friend Angie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her brothers and sisters, grandson Al De Cleene, granddaughter, Tina Mancheski, great grandchildren Hannah Hutjens, Jessica Mancheski, and Jacob VanLanen. Family and friends may call at St Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsmans Dr, Ledgeview from 4 until 5:45 pm Wednesday April 16. Immediately following will be the Mass of Christian Burial at 6 pm with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating and Germaine’s grandson Deacon Kevin DeCleene assisting. Interment in Mt Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Service is assisting the Hutjens family. We would also like to thank Donna for picking Mom up to pray the rosary every week and Kathy and Steve for hosting. It meant so much to her.
