Gerilou (Picard) Maass Betty, 63, left Wrightstown, bound for heaven on the wings of The Eagles on May 13, 2017. Passing away peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born June 16, 1953 in Plymouth, Wisconsin, daughter of Jerry and Donna Picard. Betty married Bob Maass on September 13, 2008 and enjoyed their married years together spending time with family and friends. Betty's nursing career began at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, Plymouth, WI in 1969 following thru to Outagamie County Health Center/Brewster Village, Appleton, WI until she retired in 2010. Her love, compassion, and commitment to the people she cared for was beyond extraordinary. Betty had the kindest heart, gentle hands, soft and loving words for everyone. Her smile would light up a room, her laughter was contagious and she often put the care of others before herself. Keeping a positive twist on everything. Gerilou Betty'' leaves behind and will be dearly missed by her husband, Bob; Bob's daughter Amber (Aaron) Schroeder, granddaughter Jovie, and her cat Niko. Gerilou is survived by her Parents Jerry and Donna Picard; her brothers: Mike (Rita) Picard, Jeremy (Stacy) Picard; her sisters: Julie (Pat) Zak and Vicki (Tim) Hollister. She also has a special aunt who was her God-mother, Judy Wiechert. Betty's survivors through Bob's family are: Father-in-law Chuck Maass along with his family Jerry (Anne) Maass, Lou Beard, Mary (Dick) Fritsch, Char (Ken) Lemke, Ed Maass, and Ken Maass. Betty also has many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends too numerous to mention. One very special part of Betty's life was her dog, Jesse, who brought many years of joy and happiness to her life and is sitting right beside her. Oh! How she loved that dog! Betty loved her family and friends, music, going to concerts, flower gardening, boating, vacationing with friends and family and soaking up the sun. Betty also leaves us with her laughter and her smile. To have known her was to love her. The past few years were a struggle for her to stay healthy, but with the love and support of Bob's family and together with their friends and her family, she made some happy memories during those difficult times. Please don't be sad as she lived life to the fullest. Instead, remember all the fun we had, and the wonderful times spent together. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday May 18, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:45p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 437 Turner St. Wrightstown. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at church with the Pastor Mike Gehl officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneralhome.com The family would like to extend a very special THANK-YOU to Connie Leon. She has been a loyal, compassionate, devoted friend and care giving nurse to Betty in her time of need the last 3 or more years. Connie has also been there for Betty in good times and in bad throughout their entire life. Your help and support has not gone unnoticed, and is really appreciated. In closing: In Connie’s own words, ''Now we can move forward knowing Betty is in a better place in heaven. And at peace. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts. Love you Betty! Peace, Fly on!
