Gerald "Jerry" Cegelski

Gerald H. “Jerry” Cegelski, 86, De Pere, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015. He was born June 23, 1929 in Green Bay, son of the late Harry and Veronica (Tyrrell) Cegelski. Jerry graduated from Central Catholic High School, Green Bay, and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Jerry served in the ROTC while in high school as a Staff Sgt. from 1944-1947. He married Sarah (Sally) Sepersky on April 30, 1955 at St. Francis Catholic Church in De Pere. Gerald worked for Milwaukee Railroad after high school and then worked for IBM as a Customer Service Engineer for 35 years. Jerry enjoyed music, reading, camping and electronics (especially high fidelity stereo systems). He is survived by his loving, adoring wife of 60 years, Sally, De Pere; his children: Stephen (JoAnn) Cegelski, Green Bay; Mary (Jerry) Donaldson, Ft. Smith, AK; Anna (Delbert) Dollaway, Allouez; John (Allison) Cegelski, Plover; James (Tammy) Cegelski, Green Bay; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers: Frederick Cegelski, Fish Creek, Richard (Nyla) Cegelski, Ashwaubenon; special sister-in-law, Nancy Cegelski, Wausau. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a grandson, Peter Donaldson. Family and friends may visit Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where there will be a funeral ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Unity Hospice. The family extends a special thank you to John Proctor, close companion and caregiver; HomeInstead, Bishops Court, and Unity Hospice for their care and compassion, and a special thanks to Tasha Strey from Lakeland Care District for all her caring, time and hardwork.
