George L. Mauritz

George L. Mauritz, 65, Wrightstown, passed away Wednesday, January 12. The son of the late George and Betty (Reinhardt) Mauritz was born February 23, 1945 in Shawano. He married Kay Jaschinski on August 26, 1978 at St. John Lutheran Church in De Pere. His hobbies included: woodworking, fishing, camping, Indy car watching and Packers football. George is survived by his wife, Kay; children: Matthew and Molly (Jacob) Sobiesczyk; brother: Kim (Faye) Mauritz; brothers and sisters-in-law: Peter (Sharon), Anne, John (Kari), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; mother and father-in-law: Clarence and Doris Jaschinski; a son: Andrew; brother-in-law: Mike Baker; and his pet, Patch. Family and friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church, 1700 Lost Dauphin Road, De Pere, from 9:30 to 11am on Monday, January 17. A service will be held at 11am Monday, at the Church, with the Rev. Brian Cain officiating. Interment in Split Rock, WI. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at St. Vincent Hospital for all of their care and concern shown to George.
