George Compton

George Compton, 79 passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019. George was born February 5, 1940 the son of the late Bert and Lucille (Brunette) Compton.

He was the youngest of 16 children. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a dental helper. He retired from Lov-It Creamery as a “truckologist” after 36 years. George loved spending his free time at his cabin with his large family. There he enjoyed fishing, hunting, card playing, horseshoes & riding on the pontoon.

George is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Skrepenski), of 41 yrs. Along with 6 children, Ron Crass, Dennis (Kathy) Crass, David (Karen) Crass, Shelly Crass (special family friend Dan), Lisa (James) Braddy, Wendi Compton; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren along with 5 siblings: Bert (Helga) Compton Jr., Betty Ozarowicz, Joyce Bessert, Carol Baetsen and Mary Garrity; sisters-in-law, Barb & Nancy Compton; brother-in-law, Don Vannieuwenhoven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant child, George Jr.; infant siblings, Clarence, Joseph & Beverly; sibings: Harold (Germaine) Compton, Bernadine (Andy) Ozarowicz, Bernice (Emil) Klimczyk, Ella Vannieuwenhoven, Bill (Dorothy) Compton, Dick Compton, Jim Compton, Ray Ozarowicz, Ron Garrity, Floyd Bessert & Arleen Compton.

Visitation will be held at Cotter Funeral Home Denmark location, 536 County R Denmark, Monday, April 29, 2019 from 9:30am to 12:15pm. A memorial service will be held at 12:30pm.
