Gary L. Huss, Greenleaf, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was born July 5, 1941 in Kaukauna, son of the late Peter and Henrietta (Vande Wettering) Huss. Gary married Katherine “Kay” Welter on July 4, 1963 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. He was a successful, hard-working life-long dairy farmer, and was a member of St. Clare Parish, attending the St. Paul site in Wrightstown. Gary was a life-long Packer fan, and was a season ticket holder. Sundays were special for Gary and his family, whether they were attending a Packer game at Lambeau Field, enjoying a family Sunday brunch or taking a Sunday drive and eating ice cream together. He also enjoyed watching the Brewers and attending his daughter’s Special Olympics events. Gary loved his John Deeres and took great pleasure planting and caring for his gardens and fields. He loved farming and all things nature—including spending time at the cottage up north, watching the animals, and feeding the birds and the deer. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his nephews at the “deer camp”. Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Kay; six children: Carl (Sara) Huss, Wrightstown; Rick Huss (special friend Jen Garvey), Greenleaf; Victoria Huss (special friend Jason Fuller), Greenleaf; Kelly Peters (Dave Peters), Wrightstown; Sally Huss (fiancé Jeff Theunis), Wrightstown; and Sandy Huss, Greenleaf; five grandchildren; Skye Huss, Chayd Huss, Ashley Peters, Paige Huss, and Parker Huss; and a sister: Mary Van Groll, Little Chute. Also surviving are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Donna Huss, Shirley Huss, Jean Huss, Jan De Kleyn, Don Jan Kessler, Dan Pat Voelker, Mary Jerry Weiland, Tim Char Welter, Joann Kopack, and Terry Sandy Welter; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Roland, Cletus, Cyril, Clayton, and Peter Huss; sister, Joan Ver Voort; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jerry Kopack, Marv Van Groll, Marge Huss, and George Ver Voort; a granddaughter, Peyton Huss. Friends may call at St. Clare Parish – St. Paul site, 437 Main Street, Wrightstown, on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with the parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Ken Kabat officiating Visitation will continue at St. Paul site on Wed., July 11th, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Wednesday, July 11th, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating and Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken concelebrating. Interment will be held in St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown, is assisting the family with arrangements.
