Frances M. Lieg

Frances M. Lieg, 94, Bellevue, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at her home. She was born October 17, 1917 in Belle Plaine, WI, daughter to the late Joseph and Mary (Dillenburg) Brunner. She was married to Darwin Lieg on November 16, 1944 at Sacred Heart Church in Shawano, WI, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2011. She attended Badger Green Bay Business College and began a business career in the office of St. Vincent Hospital. After her family was grown, she resumed working in this field. An avid reader and loved all nature. She enjoyed trout fishing and hiking beaches and forest with her husband. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by her daughter, Mary Kay Suring and her companion, James Lee; grandson, Adam Suring and his wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Andrew and Margaret, Germantown, WI; granddaughter, Erica (Lieg) Kotajarvi and her husband, Michael, and their daughter, Sarah, Bloomfield, MI; her sisters: Magdalen Bartz, Anna Brunner, Margaret Adams, Mary Stieber and her husband, Jerome, of Marathon; sister-in-law, Carol Brunner; brothers, Michael Brunner and his wife, Darla, and Martin Brunner. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darwin; an infant son, Franklin; her sons, Andrew, Edward and Joseph Lieg; brothers: Anton, George and John Brunner; sister, Elizabeth Jeske; brothers-in-law, Henry Jeske, Robert Bartz, Clifford Tank and Robert Adams; and sister-in-law, Kathryn Tank. Family and friends may call Saturday, January 14, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Allouez. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at church, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Shawano Co.
