Eugene "Gene" Van Gent

Eugene W. “Gene” Van Gent, 83, Allouez, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. The son of the late Alphonse and Doris (McEvoy) Van Gent was born on October 10, 1932 in Milwaukee. He married Barbara Jean Neidlinger on July 27, 1963 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 2011. Gene was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as a sales person for a manufacturing company. Survivors include his uncles: Wilbert (Helena) Hall; Robert Hall; cousins: Mary Jean (Tom) Charters; Dalyce Conner; Twlyla (Larry) Coletti; Tonya Smith; Barbara (Bob) Salata; Jim Reardon; Sharon Sehulenberg. In addition to his wife and parents, Gene was preceded in death by one sister, and other cousins. Family and friends may visit at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr, Allouez, on Friday, September 2, from 9:30am until 10:45am. The Mass of Christian Burial for Gene will be celebrated at 11:00am with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Allouez.
