Elsa E. (Lehikoinen) Stanek

Elsa E. Stanek, Green Bay, WI, passed away June 4, 2014. She was born Nov. 21, 1925 in Creighton Mine, Ontario, Canada. She graduated from Luther L. Wright High School, Ironwood, Michigan in 1944, and attended Badger Business College in Green Bay. Elsa worked at the Brown County University office in Green Bay, retiring in April 1985, after 40 years of service. She married Wesley A. Stanek in Ironwood, MI in 1953, and together they owned and operated Evergreen Appraisals in DePere. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents: Erick and Hilma (Kekalainen) Lehikoinen, nieces: Kathy Stilen and Janet Schmidt, and a brother-in-law, John Stilen. She is survived by sisters: Nikki Stilen, Middleton, WI and Vienna Johnson (Freeman) of Eagle River, WI. Also survived by nieces: Karen Konick (Dr. Lawrence) Salem, Oregon and Lynn Johnson of Sumpter, Oregon; nephews: Lawrence Stilen (Donna) of Eagle, WI and Steve Schmidt, Madison, WI; as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephew Jennifer Konick, Natalie Schmidt, and Jordan Konick. A private family service will be held at a future date. Burial will be at the Czech National Cemetery, Yuba WI. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials can be made to: N. E. W.
