Eloise M. Wotruba

Eloise M. Watruba, 86, Denmark, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 14, 2013 at her home. She was born January 18, 1927 in Green Bay, daughter to the late Chris and Amanda (Rasmussen) Christensen. She graduated from Denmark High School, and married Norman Watruba on June 22, 1946 at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark, and he preceded her in death on January 26, 2007. Eloise enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards with her friends. After retiring from the farm, Norman and Eloise enjoyed woodworking and selling their crafts at the farmer’s market. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society, and WFLA. Survivors include her three children: Faye (Larry) Metzler, Julie (Ken) Storzer, and Larry (Joy) Watruba; nine grandchildren: Ben (Kay) Metzler, Deana (Scott) Beres, Kristine (Jim) Migely, Sara (Jared) Siefert, Gina (Pete) Basten, Rhonda (special friend, Eric) Storzer and Rebecca (Evan) Tursky, Ryan (special friend- Tamara) Watruba, and Eric (Andrea) Watruba; twelve great-grandchildren: Brielle, Logan, Diana, Dominic, John Paul, Will, Declan, Quinn, Riley and Kelsey, Isla and Grace; two sisters: Vi Trudeau and Jean Huerth; one brother, Pete Christensen; sisters-in-law, Bernice Christensen, Irvyne Christensen; a brother-in-law, Edwin Reinke; and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was in preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Marce (Bob) Buckenhizer, Olga Christensen, Claude Christensen, Norman Christensen, Hazel (Milton) Hansen; brothers-in-law, Norman Trudeau, Jerry Huerth, and Joe Wessley; and sisters-in-law, Naomi Reinke and Norma Christensen. Family and friends may call Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
