Ellen Clare O'Malley - Herbner

Ellen C. O’Malley-Herbner, 75, Allouez, died October 25, with her family by her side.  She was born March 8, 1946 to Paul and Mary Kay (McNeany) O’Malley, in Rockford, IL.  Ellen graduated Muldoon Girls School in 1964 and married John L. Herbner on October 26, 1968.

She loved quilting, reading, and long distance traveling with anyone who wanted to travel with her.

Ellen in survived by her husband of 53 years, John; daughters, Megan L. and Elisabeth A. Herbner; granddaughter, Jessica E. (Dillon) Sablich; and great-grandchildren Jonathan, Amora, Opellie.  Ellen is further survived by her sisters, Mary Kay (O’Malley) Mullen of Milton, WI, Bridgette O’Malley of Hendersonville, NC; brother Christopher O’Malley of Rockford, IL; and brother-in-law, Michael (Kathy) Herbner of De Pere.

In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Ann-Lee Berhman.

Family and friends may gather at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Drive, on Saturday, October 30, from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. A Memorial service will follow with Father Tom Reynebeau officiating. 

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Ellen’s name.
