Elizabeth (Betty) Matzke, age 88, of De Pere, passed away Friday, February 05, 2016. The daughter of the late Gustave “Gus” and Helen DeBauche was born June 5, 1927 in Green Bay. She worked for WPS, St. Francis Xavier Rectory in De Pere and Kassner Construction. Betty enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, watching movies and the Packers. Survivors include her children: Mary (Bob) Sobralske of Waukesha, Fred (Nancy) Matzke of Green Bay, Mark (Margaret) Matzke of De Pere and Jane Matzke (Dennis Cavil) of De Pere; grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas, William and Elizabeth Matzke; and sister, Jean Gilson of De Pere. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a son, John Matzke, brothers: Clarence DeBauche and Alvin DeBauche; sisters-in-law Agatha DeBauche and LaVerne DeBauche; a brother-in-law Clarence “Pete” Gilson and the father of her children, Richard Matzke. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Friday, February 12, from 4-7pm with a parish prayer service at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr, Ledgeview, from 9:30-10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Saturday with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere.
