Elizabeth "Betty" Graczyk

August 30, 1932 — September 18, 2018

Elizabeth “Betty” Graczyk, age 86, of Denmark, passed away September 18, 2018 surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Fred and Dena (Paquette) Gunville was born August 30, 1932. She married Melvin Graczyk on October 4, 1952, and together they celebrated over 63 years of marriage before he passed in 2016.

Her hobbies included golfing, playing a good cribbage or sheepshead game, singing and playing the harmonica. She was especially fond of her fur babies. Betty loved watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at all Denmark Viking School activities. She was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers (she was a season ticket holder since 1957 and Ice Bowl attendee).

Survivors include her children: Daniel of Denmark, Debra (Nic) Lyons of Denmark, David (special friend Jane) of Green Bay, Steven (Kristen) of Maribel, Sandra (Scott) Niles of Denmark and Cheryl (John) Knuth of Denmark; grandchildren: Michael, Michelle (Eric) Guns, Kathryn (Kevin) Lenci, Peter (Jill) Lyons, Teresa (David) Story, John (Megan) Lyons, Ben (Della) Graczyk, Donald Angrabright, Matthew Graczyk, Melissa (Shawn) Brady, William (Jennifer) Niles, Amanda (Jon) Shedlosky, Jenny Knuth and Jessy (fiance Garrett Moody) Knuth; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law Joan Schleis; as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Melvin, and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Sylvia Graczyk, siblings: Louise (Pat) Schaut, Lucille (John) Legois, Lillian (Ronald) Beaudoin, Helen (Russell) Crawford, Olive (Larry) LeBeau; Virginia (Phil) DeCraene, Joseph (Helen) Gunville and Raymond (Lorraine) Gunville; brother-in-law Claude Schleis; Melvin’s siblings: Stanley Graczyk and Bernie (Dick) Stein, and Melvin’s parents: Alex and Alice Graczyk.

Family and friends may visit at St. James Catholic Church, 18228 Cty Rd R, Cooperstown (Denmark) on Friday, September 21, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am. Burial in SS. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Eaton. Cotter Funeral Home of Denmark is assisting the family.
