Elizabeth "Bette" Kane

June 13, 1949 — September 30, 2010

Elizabeth (Bette) Kane, 61, Denmark, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 30, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family at her side. She was born June 13, 1949 in Green Bay, daughter to the late Russell and Rita (Raymaker) Pirlott. Bette graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Kane, on April 18, 1970 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Green Bay. Bette worked in Pupil Services for 18 years at Denmark Elementary School and prior to that worked as a Bookkeeper at Super Value. She enjoyed reading, gardening, spending summers by the pool, and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ralph; daughter, Joelle (Alicia Raisbeck); two sons, Ryan (Angie) and Todd and special friend, Michael Vinson; two grandchildren, Sam and Lydia; two sisters, Jean (Lou) Lucci, and Janice (Gary) Schauer; three brothers: Roland (Rosie) Pirlott, Mike (Jo) Pirlott, and Dave (Sherry) Pirlott; Ralph’s sisters and brothers: Connie (Bob) Clusman, Marilyn (Larry) Miller, Norbert (Joni) Kane, Larry (Lynn) Kane, Rita (Greg) Immel, Dorothy (Roy) Lindeman, Daniel (Connie) Kane, and Mary Jo Kane (Kate O’Neil). Bette was preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Hilda Kane. Family and friends may call Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson- Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark. A Parish Prayer Service will conclude the visitation. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. The family would like to express their gratitude in the care of Bette to Dr. Umang Gautam, Aurora BayCare and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic Staff, Aurora Hospice especially Dawn Gaedtke, the entire Denmark School District teachers and staff, family, friends, and neighbors.
