Elizabeth Ann (Kane) Denor

June 13, 1922 — October 26, 2017

Elizabeth Ann (Kane) Denor Elizabeth Ann Denor, age 95, passed away peacefully at Wayside Parkview Estates on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Elizabeth was born on June 13, 1922 in the town of Morrison to the late Michael and Elizabeth (Long) Kane. She married Arthur Denor on November 16, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stark, where she was baptized, received her First Holy Communion, was confirmed in the Catholic faith, and remained a lifetime member. Her faith was very important to her. She prayed the rosary daily, was a member of the Altar Society, and taught religious education classes. Liz was known as “Lizabetann” to many in her family, and was named after both her mother and grandmother. Elizabeth was a homemaker, a farmers’ wife, and the apple of Art’s eye. She and Art raised their six children on the family farm. Liz was 100% Irish and very proud of her heritage. She definitely fit the description of a feisty Irish lady! Her favorite pastime was talking on the phone. Although she never drove a car, she was always up for an opportunity to go bumming. She was known by her grandchildren for her buttered noodles, hot chocolate made with powdered milk, and “Grandma’s Secret Recipe,” which consisted of white bread, butter and white sugar. Liz and Art enjoyed their years of retirement, going to water therapy classes at the CP Center, retreats on Chamber’s Island and Friday night fish fries. At the age of 85, they became residents of Wayside Parkview Estates, which quickly became home to them. The absolute greatest care imaginable was given to Liz during her years there. The staff became more like family, and the extreme love and compassion they showed Liz will forever be appreciated. Elizabeth Ann is survived by her six children, Patricia Treichel, Kathryn (Larry) Schneider, Donald (Sharon) Denor, Michael (Mary) Denor, Mary (Kevin) Larsen, and Theresa (Carl) Nelson. She is further survived by 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Cohen Kane, Delores Kane and Bernice Denor; brother-in-law, Robert Bielinski; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, Arthur (in 2008), son-in-law, Herold Treichel, grandson, Jesse Treichel , her seven siblings, Jerome, Charles, Michael, Giles, Agatha ,Gordon and John Leo; Arthur’s eleven sisters and brothers, nine sisters-in law, and five brothers-in-law. Visitation for Elizabeth will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church-Stark, 7002 County Hwy. NN, Denmark from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.
