Eleanor Bowers, 84, Wrightstown, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 with her family by her side. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Eleanor was born March 10, 1932 in Freedom to the late John and Dora Green. She married Bud Bowers on August 27, 1953 in Freedom, WI. She and her husband farmed all their life in Kaukauna, WI. She was an active member of St. Paul Parish, being active in the Martha Choir, Christian Mother’s Society and the Auxiliary of the Post 436 Legion. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren up at the cottage. She also was an avid Brewers fan. Together Eleanor and Bud raised 12 children: Russ (Lisa) Bowers, Keith (Judy) Bowers, Sue (Gary) Brochtrup, Carol (Dennis) Van Rossum, Jim (Sheila) Bowers, Alan (Laurie) Bowers, Mike (Laurie) Bowers, Mary (Rick) Vanden Wymelenberg, Ken (Judy Lynn) Bowers, Amy (Tony) Francis, Nancy (Mike) Francis and Jeff (Stephanie) Bowers. She is also survived by 42 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, sister Verna Berkin, sister-in-law Germaine Green, brother-in-law Jim Van Vreede, Bud’s family: Clarence Bowers, Bob (Roseann) Basten, Arlene Blair, Margaret Bowers, Ann Bowers and Mary Jane Bowers, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Norbert (Harriet) Green, Bill (Lorraine), Vince (Elaine), John, Bob (Beattie), her sisters: Florence (Leo) Schmidt, Rosella (Orin) Kortez, Francis (Leo) Weiland, Esther Van Vreede, Charlette Green and brother-in-law Jerry Berkin. Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Catholic Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Sunday, May 3, from 3-7pm. A parish prayer service will conclude the evening at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, at the church, from 9:00 until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday with Fr. John Schuh officiating. Interment in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. The family is grateful to St. Paul’s Hospice and the loving staff in the Poppy Path Wing, and also to Dr. Johnson. We loved and cherished our time spent with you. God Bless you, your loving family.
