Elda Marie Amanda (Habeck) Porr

Elda Marie Amanda Porr, 88, Shirley, entered her eternal home on Thursday, June 16, 2016. She passed away surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Herman and Corinna (Sturm) Habeck was born on November 12, 1927 in Maribel. Elda married the love of her life, Hugo Porr on June 23, 1945, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maribel. The couple farmed in the town of Glenmore until 1977 when they moved to the Town of Ledgeview. They enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She then worked at Scott Construction for many years. She also enjoyed her flowers, baking with her grandchildren, playing cards, fishing, and going to the YMCA. In the last year of her life she became known as the “reading lady” at West Haven in Brillion. Elda enjoyed being part of Immanuel Ladies Aid and Best Friend’s Forever (BFF). Elda shared her love of Christ both in life and in death, and leaves a legacy of her strong faith to her family. Survivors include her four daughters and sons-in-law: Carol and Roger Bubolz, Reedsville; Llana and Arlin Sonnabend, Green Bay; Sherry and Paul Koepp, Florence; Marlys and Jim Morehouse, Oconomowoc; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Wilbert Habeck; sister-in-law, Yvonne Habeck; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Hugo, Elda was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Habeck; sister-in-law, Norma Habeck; and two grandchildren, John and Andrew. Family and friends may visit at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3735 Shirley Rd, De Pere, on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 9:00am until 11:45am. The Funeral Service for Elda will be celebrated at Noon with Pastor Ross Henzi officiating. Interment will take place at the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Pastor Henzi, Dr. Sipple, the staff at West Haven, and Heartland Hospice. Memorials may be made in Elda’s memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice, or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
