Elaine Schroeder

Elaine Lorraine Schroeder (Steinbarth) passed away March 22, 2024 at the age of 93.

She was born on February 6, 1931 to the late Arthur and Lorraine (Olson) Steinbarth. On March 16, 1957 she married Marshall “Bud” Schroeder in Fond du Lac where they lived until 1967. She and Bud moved from Fond du Lac to De Pere where they lived for many years raising their daughter. In retirement they moved “up north” to Athelstane and spent many winters as snowbirds in Florida. Most recently Elaine lived at Bellevue Retirement and then Woodside Lutheran, both in Green Bay.

Elaine was a lover of all animals; not only her several pet dogs and cats through years, but all the animals in the wild. The years in Athelstane she enjoyed watching the deer, bear and birds but especially a pair of sandhill cranes that would return each year.

Survivors include her daughter, Laurie (Fiancé David Pierro) and sister Arlene Kolacki (Andrew). She is further survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers Arthur Steinbarth and Bill Steinbarth and sisters Barbara Nimmer and Bonnie Goodwin.

Thank you to all Elaine’s caregivers through the years at Bellevue and Woodside Lutheran. An extra special thank you to Gloria; for 10 years you were not only a care giver but a very good friend. Your friendship has been invaluable to us.
