Elaine Marie Gossen

Elaine M. Gossen, 92, De Pere, passed away peacefully Monday evening with her daughter, Laura by her side. The daughter of the late Lester and Stella (Mushinske) Carter was born September 25, 1926 in De Pere. On June 18, 1949, she married Merlin Gossen in Glenmore, and he preceded her in death. Elaine cleaned homes for many years, and in her spare time enjoyed gardening, bowling, reading, dancing, listening to talk radio, and watching sports (especially the Packers). She was a long-time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere.

Survivors include her children: Laura (Gary) Peters, Mark (Cyndi) Gossen, Mary Jankowski, Lonnie Gossen and Rodney (Corri) Gossen; grandchildren: Amy (Don), Barry (Erica), Chris, Traci (Sam), Melissa (Chad), Kristin, Tina, Chad (Kathy), Krista (Asa), Ali, Hailey and Trevor; brother and sister: Doris Pansier and Larry (Edna) Carter; great-grandchildren: Bailey, Abegale, Bella, Emmitt, Bevon, Kalli, Ava, Alexis, Jadyn, Jaxon, Zack, Nick, Hunter, Hailey, Coalton and Chase.

In addition to her parents and husband, Merlin, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Mike Jankowski; her brothers: Robert, Russell, Merl (Mary Ann) and Harold (Rita), as well as a sister JoAnn.

Family and friends may call Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere from 4-6:30 pm Friday, October 12, 2018. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere from 9:00-10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am. Interment in Mt.
