Edward J. “Eddie” Fischer Jr., 75, Wrightstown, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, May 19, 2011. Ed was born in the Town of Kaukauna on February 12, 1936, son of the late Edward J. and Veronica (O’Donnell) Fischer. He was a graduate of Wrightstown High School. On August 8, 1961, Ed married Marlene C. Rademacher at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown. Ed was employed at Baker Wholesale as a plumbing and heating salesman for over 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church (St. Clare Parish), Wrightstown. Ed was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, vacationing with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his patience, kindness and putting others first; you could always count on him for a good joke. Ed is survived by his wife, Marlene; four children: Laurie (Dale) Harris, Kaukauna; Mike (Julie) Fischer, Kaukauna; Tony (Laura) Fischer, Little Chute; and Sue (John) McMorrow, De Pere; ten grandchildren: Katie and Emily Harris; Lindsey and Claire Fischer; Allison and Tyler Fischer; and Michael, Rachel, Lydia, and Will McMorrow; a brother, Cliff Fischer, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marv and Betty Rademacher, Dolores Van Epern, Gene and Helen Brick. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Ray (Janet), George, Eugene, Joe, Catherine (Robert) Ver Voort, sister-in-law, Patricia Fischer and brother-in-law Carl Van Epern. Family and friends may call at St. Clare Parish – St. Paul Catholic Church site, 437 Main Street, Wrightstown, WI, on Monday, May 23, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The parish prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, May 24, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. followed by celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis L. Bergsbaken officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown, is assisting the family with arrangements. (920) 532-4366.
