Edward G. Kraynek

October 10, 1922 — November 24, 2014

Edward G. Kraynek, 92, Stangelville, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Bellin Hosptial. He was born October 10, 1922 in the town of Franklin, son of that late Joseph and Doris (Hynek) Kraynek. Edward served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He married Viola “Vi” Sekora in September of 1949 in Denmark, and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2011. After service, Edward worked as an electrician at Manitowoc Company. He also worked as an independent electrician, taking over his father’s business, retiring in 1987. He was a devout, active member of St. Therese Parish-St. Lawrence Church, Stangelville. He was also a member of the Denmark VFW. Edward enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Since his wife, Vi passed away, Edward developed a passion for cooking, baking and canning. He will be deeply missed by his four children: Gregory (Margaret) Kraynek, Manitowoc, Mary (Ted) Pavelko, New Berlin, Paul Kraynek, Two Rivers, and Mike Kraynek, Stangelville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Peplinski, Green Bay; and numerous nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vi; brothers, Robert Kraynek and Lester Kraynek. Family and friends may call Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Therese Parish-St. Lawrence Church, Stangelville, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Full military honors will follow the Mass. Cotter Funeral Home, Denmark, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. The family extends a special thank you to the Bellin Hosptial 4th floor nursing staff and ICU nurses, especially Crystal and Adam, for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Edward and his family.
