Dr. Peter Bordini

June 14, 1946 — January 3, 2019

Dr. Peter Dominic Bordini of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2019, at the age of 72. He was born June 14, 1946, in Appleton, Wisconsin, the second of six children of Dominic John Bordini and Janette Ida (Burns) Bordini of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Peter was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and the Marquette University School of Dentistry. Upon graduating from dental school, he enlisted in the Air Force, serving in active duty at the rank of captain during the Vietnam War at both Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, and Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Mississippi. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Peter joined Dental Arts Associates in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he practiced general dentistry for 40 years until retiring at the end of 2013. Peter treasured his career as a dentist and greatly appreciated the honor and privilege of providing exceptional and thoughtful care, forming meaningful and lasting relationships with countless patients over the years.

More so than any other role in his life, Peter cherished being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Peter married the “love of his life,” Nan Bordini, on June 14, 1969; they had three sons, Brian, Brad, and Brett. Family, friends, and patients were frequently regaled with tales of the latest happenings in the Bordini family, and the love he felt for and pride he took in his family was readily apparent to all who knew him. Oftentimes an adoringly-shared photograph would accompany these updates; those with whom he shared these photographs knew that his love of photography extended not only to his family, but also to the beauty of the world around him. His ability to capture the perfect sunset or blooming flower was only hinted at in the numerous prints that adorned his dental office, and his love of nature was reflected in many ways beyond photography. Peter was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying hunting grouse, pheasant, and deer, and fishing for trout and walleye. He spent many a season in the northern woods of Wisconsin, often accompanied by friends, family, and his loyal hunting dogs (Duchess, Maxine, Zeke, and Freddie), though at other times accompanied only by the sights and sounds of nature, in which he took great solace and found a strong spiritual connection. He transformed this appreciation for natural beauty into a keen artistic eye, and was an accomplished craftsman, creating magnificent wood carvings, stained-glass kaleidoscopes, jewelry, handmade knives, and detailed leather pieces, many of which he gifted lovingly to family, friends, and patients alike. He had an unmatched ability to fill a room with laughter and joy, and was always ready with a perfectly-timed joke or story.

Peter was a proud member of a number of organizations, including the Green Bay Retired Men’s Club and the Military Officer’s Club of Northeast Wisconsin. He served on the boards of numerous charitable and community-minded organizations, including Agape of Appleton, the school board at Catholic Central elementary school, and St. Mary’s Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Nan, sons Brian (spouse Jennifer Mikulina and their children Elizabeth and Alexander), Brad (spouse Kerry Geocaris and their children Elliot and Teya), and Brett (spouse Jessica Froelich Bordini and their daughters Ellory, Violet, and Maisie), as well as his siblings Jeanne, Steven, Susann, Mario, and Dino.

Family and friends may visit at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 2771 Oakwood Drive, Green Bay, on Monday, January 7, from 4-8pm. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30pm.
