Dorothy M. Rosek, 87, Denmark, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was born October 30, 1925 in Sampson, WI, daughter to the late George and Hattie (Janszewski) Nickiel. Dorothy came from a family of four children. On June 21, 1947, Dorothy married Edward V. “Scotty” Rosek at Ss. Edward and Isadore Parish in Flintville and they lived at the same home in Denmark for over 50 years. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2010. Dorothy was a loving mother and wife who took care of her husband, Ed, faithfully during his long term disability. She had been a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark, where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society. She was a soft-spoken and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy’s Catholic faith was very important to her and she prayed the Rosary often. She will be deeply missed by her three children and spouses: Donna Kapinos-Leiterman (Lee), Bob (Mary) Rosek, and Betty (Ron) Fiori; 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Thompson, Tammy Carley, Becky Collar, Jeffrey and Tim Kapinos; Maggie and Mike Rosek; Eric, Mark, Nick, and Mike Fiori; 7 great-grandchildren: Alaina, Derek, and Jack Thompson; Jay and Ryan Collar; Molly and Maggie Carley; brother, Jim (Rose) Nickiel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie Nickiel, Alvina Rosek, Martha (Marvin) VandenLangenBerg and Andrew Rosek; numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends, Cleo Gillis and Rita Nickels. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Erin Rosek; son-in-law, Don Kapinos; sister, Lucille (Bernard) Bukouricz; brother, David Nickiel; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sophie and John Vaessen, Frances and Stanley Niespodzany, Mary and Alphonse Polasik, Antone and Evelyn Rosek, George Rosek, Dorothy Rosek, Frank and Ceil Rosek, and Joe and Alvina Rosek. Family and friends may call Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 3425 Willow Road, Green Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Fr. Dan Viertel officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Pine Grove.
