Dorothy G. Gast, nee Zeeb, 89, Green Bay/Wrightstown, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 at a local hospital. She was born October 6, 1920, in Detroit, MI, daughter to the late John and Marie (Walters) Zeeb. Dorothy graduated from high school in Detroit, MI, and then worked for SS Kresge Department Store as a Secretary. During WWII, she volunteered for the USO and after the war joined the Red Cross and went to Japan to help with the relief efforts. She married Frederick Gast, son of Rev. Louis F. Gast--founding Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay-- in 1950 in Detroit, and he preceded her in death in November of 1999. Dorothy was a member of the Green Bay Antique Study Group and Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, LeAnn Gast, Phoenix, AZ; one son, Fritz (Sandra) Gast, Wrightstown; four grandchildren: Heather (Troy) Schisel, Wrightstown, Courtney Gast, Wrightstown, Chelsea Gast, Wrightstown, and Dylan Gast, Wrightstown; and one great grandson, Christian Schisel. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Keith; and three brothers and three sisters. Family and friends may call Monday, March 8, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. There will be a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m., with the Rev.
