Dorothy Ann Wallerius, 87, of Green Bay, passed away on August 27, 2023, with her family by her side.
Dorothy was born to John Lawrence and Dorothy Ann (Patocka) Vasichek, on March 28, 1936, in Lawton, North Dakota. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Washington in 1954. In 1957, she received her degree in nursing from the Sisters of St. Joseph's Nursing School of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Dorothy practiced nursing at Notre Dame Hospital, San Francisco, California, and later returned to Sisters of St. Joseph's Nursing School as a clinical instructor.
Dorothy married John Forbes Wallerius, M.D., in 1959, and they lived in Green Bay and Denmark, Wisconsin, as well as Destin and The Villages, Florida. They enjoyed fifty years of blissful marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2010, and her sisters Judy (John) Hodny and Mary (Thomas) Numedahl.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, six sons, eighteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren: John Vasichek (Darlene) of Devils Lake, North Dakota, brother; Michael Wallerius of Kewaunee, son; granddaughter Hannah (Alex Moder); great-granddaughter Maggie; great-grandson Ben; grandson Timothy (Sydney); David Wallerius (Colette) of Denmark, son; grandson John (Jordyn); great-grandson Archie; great-granddaughter, Maeve; grandson Jake (Jessica); Paul Wallerius (Loralie) of Chippewa Falls, son; granddaughter Elizabeth (Devan Van Aarde); grandson Zac; granddaughter Whitney; Joseph Wallerius (Jodie) of Broomfield, Colorado, son; granddaughter Kate (Scott Fiedler); granddaughter Lauren (Ricky Gardea); great-grandson Marcus; great-granddaughter Ruby; granddaughters Emily and Sarah; James Wallerius (Molly) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, son; granddaughters Kerry and Ava Dorothy; grandson Roan; granddaughter Georgia; Pete Wallerius (Michelle) of Denmark, son; grandsons William, Jay and Grant.
Dorothy loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was an amazing prayer warrior. She loved and cherished her family, Bible study members, friends, and neighbors near and far. Dorothy enjoyed golfing, gardening, puzzles, walks in the woods, horses, and her beloved poodle Misty.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Green Bay, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. The mass will be livestreamed at https://gbres.org/live
