Dorothy A. Petersen

Dorothy A. Petersen, 84, Denmark, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at a local hospital. She was born December 19, 1930 on the family farm in Denmark, daughter to the late Louis and Mary Clara (Terrien) Ronk. Dorothy graduated from Denmark High School in 1948. She married Donald Petersen on June 6, 1953 at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark, and enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Together they farmed most of their lives on the family farm. Dorothy enjoyed her flowers and making her famous rye bread. She loved Angels and Christmas. Everything about Christmas from baking cookies to buying presents she loved. She was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Denmark. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald, Denmark; four children: Gerald (Carol) Petersen, Denmark; Mary (Greg) Haasl, Menasha; Joan (Greg) Kane, Denmark; and Michael Petersen, Two Rivers; five grandchildren: Megan (Andrew) Stodola, Zak (Danielle) Petersen, Katie Kane, Sam Petersen, and Erica Haasl; two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Peyton Stodola; one brother, Norbert Ronk, Green Bay; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Lorna Skubal, Claude (Judy) Petersen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret (Lawrence) Schaetz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean Ronk; Mae (Henry) Vandenbush; Glen Skubal; Linda (Eldor) Engelbrecht. Family and friends may visit All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at church, with Fr. Kevin Ori officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Denmark. Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, Denmark, is assisting the family.
