Donald Edward Pollack

Donald Edward Pollack, “Don”, 83, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, October 25th, 2022 at Unity Hospice in De Pere with wife Janet and son Matthew at his side. Don was born July 20th, 1939 in Oshkosh to Edward and Virginia (Thompson) Pollack, on his father’s 35th birthday.

After graduating from Oshkosh High School, Don began a forty-one-year career with Wisconsin Public Service in the Information Services department. Don had an aptitude for technology and worked on the team that computerized the company’s accounting systems in the late 60s. Don made many friendships at WPS that he cherished throughout his life.

Don met his wife Janet at Wisconsin Public Service where she worked as a secretary in the stores department. They were married on May 22, 1965, at St. Boniface Parish in De Pere and enjoyed 57 loving years together.

After retiring from WPS in 2000, he started a second career at Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe where he was known as the “Danish King” for his skill in crafting pastries. Don was a dog-lover and an excellent “dog dad” to his golden retriever, Brandi, and St. Bernard, Abby. Don was an avid Packer fan, attending games as a season ticket holder first with Janet and later with his son Matt. Don and Janet were active members of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in De Pere before moving to Allouez and becoming members of Resurrection Catholic Parish.

Don was preceded in death by parents Edward and Virginia, brother Robert, sister Carol Kuenzl, mother and father-in-law Rita (Brunner) and Macy Kryzanek, sister-in-law Marilyn, and brother-in-law Roger Bartnik.

Don is survived by wife Janet, son Matthew (Juliet), sister Mary (Vern) LeBouton, sister-in-law Mavis Bartnik, brother-in-law Kenneth Kuenzl, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Dr., Green Bay, from 9:30am on Monday October 31, 2022, until 11:15am. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30am with Fr. Tom Reynebeau officiating. A luncheon will follow. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum.

The family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers at Unity Hospice for their expertise and care they put forth in Don’s final days with his family.
