Dolores Pierre

Dolores Pierre, 88, of Allouez, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born on October 23, 1930, in Door County, WI to the late George and Vera (Vogel) Franda. After graduating from NWTI in Sturgeon Bay, she worked as secretary at Reynolds Brothers, Inc in Sturgeon Bay until her marriage to Bernard Pierre on October 4, 1950, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood, WI. After their five children were grown, she returned to secretarial work at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Internal Revenue Service, St. Vincent Hospital and Green Bay Correctional Institute until her retirement. Vacationing with their five children as they were growing up was a priority. Dolores was active in Girl Scouts as a Brownie Leader, and PTO secretary. Traveling with her husband to many vacation resorts brought enjoyment into their lives, as did volunteering as ushers at The Weidner Center. Dolores also volunteered as a member of the St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary, and was secretary for St. Vincent Hospital Retiree Club. She was a communion distributor at Resurrection Parish in Allouez.
Survivors include her children: Dan (Denise) Pierre; Kay (the late Ed) Palka; Bill (Diane) Pierre; Gail (Steve) Clayton; Mary (Mike) Delvaux; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; siblings: Jeanette (Len) Klappauf, Bob (Joanne) Franda; as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Bernie, and her son-in-law Ed, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Theresa Neuville and Ray Franda.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Sunday, December 16 from 3:30pm until 6:00pm with a Parish Wake Service at 6:00pm. Visitation will continue at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez on Monday, December 17, from 9:30am until 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
